Unity on the Baseball Field

Baseball is a great game of competition. However at the last game I went to, I saw how powerful it can be when athletes cooperate to share Jesus. In August, the National Network of Youth Ministries hosted the Padres Fellowship Night after the Padres and Cardinals game. Dozens of churches brought youth and adults to see star athletes share their stories of the impact that Jesus has had on their lives.
Nick Hundley, whose home run propelled the Padres to win that night, shared how in this world you will have troubles, but you can stand strong because Jesus has overcome the world. Albert Pujols, the Cardinals all-star first baseman, emphasized the importance of making a decision to serve Jesus and share Him with others. Padres star Adrian Gonzalez shared how we need to be content in all situations and focus on Christ.
Thirty people made decisions for Christ at the event and hundreds expressed interest in learning more. This is just one example of the power of partnership in ministry. As we unite, God gives eternal rewards.
